24. Chunky Clements, Illinois DL

Biographical Information: Junior defensive lineman from Dayton, Ohio. Former 3-star recruit. Helped his high school to a state title in basketball. Cousin of former Michigan Wolverines wide receiver Roy Roundtree. Son of Jarrod Clements Sr. and Keisha Freeman.

Fun Fact from Official Team Bio: His favorite athlete is Ray Lewis, “because he’s inspirational and leaves it all on the field”

Why I love the name: Chunky Clements gets the award for “Best Name That Involves A Hilarious First Name and a Run-of-the-Mill Last Name.” Some of my favorite names/nicknames in sports are set up in this same fashion, like Refrigerator Perry, Boobie Dixon, etc. As a 6’3” defensive lineman, Chunky’s name is also very fitting, and I can always respect a well-assigned name like this one. He must have been one rotund baby to garner this name as an infant, so let’s hear it for the Clements’ robust and healthy child! Also, he’s gotta be excited about future endorsement deal opportunities, so that’s an added bonus.
