19. Sheldrick Redwine, Miami S
Biographical Information: Freshman defensive back from Miami, Florida. Was the 43rd-ranked cornerback nationally and the 56th-ranked senior in the state of Florida by 247Sports.com. Was teammates with fellow Hurricane freshman Jaquan Johnson in high school. Chose Miami over Arkansas, Louisville, Kentucky, USF, Illinois, Indiana, and Minnesota. Parents’ names not listed.
Fun Fact from Official Team Bio: His major is “Undeclared Communication,” which I assume means he is studying nonverbal communication and its differences across cultures
Why I love the name: Half-Sheldon, half-Patrick, ALL MERLOT. I love this name because it definitely sounds like a fancy top hat-donning turtle who throws stuffy wine and cheese parties for his esteemed associates who live in the forest with him. Sheldrick is actually a freshman safety at The U, so now all I can picture is Ed Reed, Brandon Meriweather, and their Miami safety friends tasting various vineyards’ offerings and discussing the stock market. This pleases me.
