#22 Ken MacAfee

When one talks about Notre Dame being “Tight End U,” Ken MacAfee is exactly the kind of player that comes to mind. MacAfee was a consensus All-American for both the 1976 and 1977 seasons. In that 1977 season as a senior, Macafee caught 54 passes for 797 yards and six touchdowns.

Not only did Ken MacAfee win a national title with the Irish in 1977, he was voted as the Walter Camp Player of the year, and he came in third for the Heisman voting- AMAZING for a tight end.
