#15 Bob Crable

Bob Crable was an animal during his time at Notre Dame. Crable was an unanimous All-American in 1980 and 1981 and an absolute workhorse. Crable had 521 career tackles with 187 of those coming in 1979 (a record). Also in 1979, Bob Crable had a NCAA record 26 tackles against Clemson.

If there was one defensive player in that era that defined what a Notre Dame player should be, it was Bob Crable. He was all over the field and he put ball carriers and their buts on that same field at a record pace.
