#27 Mirko Jurkovic

Jurkovic started his career at Notre Dame on the defensive line in 1988. The freshman earned a monogram on a team that won the national championship after beating undefeated West Virginia in the Fiesta Bowl. Jurkovic moved to guard before his sophomore year and had became the ultimate utility lineman all season long. He started at guard in 1990 and in 1991. After the 1991 season, Jurkovic was named a consensus All-American.

Mirko passed away in January of 2013 after a battle with colon cancer.
