Quick Facts: Demetrius is a 6’1″ junior point guard from Mishawaka, Indiana, who averages 17.1 points, 5.3 assists, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game. He is easily the Irish’s most gifted player and will likely head to the NBA next season as a first round draft pick.

DJ is the heart and soul of this basketball team, named a captain as a junior and leading the team in points, assists, steals, and field goal percentage.

But none of that matters on Twitter.

Instead, what matters are excellent Snapchats of Jackson as comic book characters:

Or really cool shots that establish him as a force to be reckoned with in H.O.R.S.E.:

Or how about fantastic quotes in big moments where others would probably just say something cliche?

He’s relatable:

And puts his teammates on blast if necessary…

And doesn’t try to be anything he’s not.

Inquisitive and philosophical, he always makes you think with his daily musings:

Demetrius could have easily had a boring Twitter, full of tweets about working hard and being #blessed and praising God for another day as he prepares for a lucrative professional basketball career. Instead, “Meech” has chosen to expand his already NBA-caliber brand and reputation by giving us the Twitter presence we need from our best player and captain. Talk about setting a fine example for his teammates!

Bravo, DJ. Bravo.
