Quick Facts: Rex is a 6’6″ freshman guard from California with incredible leaping and dunking ability and general skills that have drawn comparisons to Pat Connaughton. He played sparingly in the beginning of the season, but has recently seen an uptick in playing time in giving starters Jackson and Vasturia and Beachem minimal breaks. He averages 1.3 points, 0.9 rebounds, and 0.7 assists on the season.

We might as well call Rex Pfleuger “Austin Burgett 2.0,” because he appears to be on the same comedic Twitter trajectory (you’ll understand what I mean by that later) and because that name is a lot easier to spell than “Pfleuger.” Check out Pfleuger and fellow frosh Elijah Burns showing Burg and Gregory that they can be funny too:

Please take note that the Frosh Brothers got more favorites than the Avon Brothers got retweets, which I definitely view as a sort of passing of the Twitter torch to the freshmen.

Rex’s Twitter is full of good stuff, like topical healthcare-related discussions…

…and a ton of dunks, which honestly make up about half of Rex’s personal brand. One half is funny stuff, and one half is throwing the ball really hard through a hoop after hanging in the air for a while and doing neat tricks. Needless to say, it works:

Here’s another slam.

And here’s a tropical one.

Here’s one where he is wearing shades and blending into the wilderness.

And here is Rex doing a complete 180, showing his softer side and posting his favorite poem:

This is Rex goofing off and scaring Mike Brey into thinking that maybe he will actually be playing golf and not basketball at ND:

And here is the ultimate testament to Rex Pfleuger’s character and brand.

He is, indeed, the real slim shady. Eminem, you can finally call off your Slim Shady Search Party. We’ve got him. He has stood up.

Ahhhhh….
