Always the tone of surprise when we think of Indiana as a large producer of football talent. Indiana, after all, is a “basketball” state and the gridiron is supposed to take a back seat to the hardwood. How myth distorts reality. Rivals released a poll that stated that Indiana had the 8th best high school football competition in the country. So, if they have that good of competition, then they should have a good supply of talent for THE in state power.

Notre Dame failed to grab any talent in this cycle. This was kind of a down year for Indiana, and a few of the top prospects in Fort Wayne decided to head elsewhere without much fight (one is still in limbo after a battery charge). I’m not sure how this will relate to the future of recruiting for Notre Dame in Indiana, but bringing in just 3 players next year will land Indiana near the top of the list again.
