If there is a state that is a bigger tease for Notre Dame than California, please by all means… point it out. Half the reason Notre Dame ends every season in California is to help its recruiting effort. The Irish have landed a lot of talent throughout the years from the Golden State, but to be perfectly frank, a lot of it has flamed out horribly. What’s worse are the ones that Notre Dame misses out on- especially in the Fresno area. The Irish spend a lot of effort and time in this state, and even though they do land a fair number for them, it somehow doesn’t equate to greatness.

Notre Dame got their quarterback and a productive receiver in this class, but they felt the scorched earth that followed Caleb Kelly’s announcement for Oklahoma. Notre Dame, despite any and all setbacks in this state, will continue to recruit it hard and pull in talent. How much of that actually pans out is still debatable.
