Oh what treasures lay in the Buckeye state for Notre Dame. Ohio has always had a strong presence on the Notre Dame roster, but the circumstances of last year, highlighted and showcased two different quarterbacks that hail from the I-75 corridor in Malik Zaire (Dayton area) and DeShone Kizer (Toledo). It doesn’t get much higher of a profile than the starting quarterback at Notre Dame, and 2 players from this state are owning it right now.

The thing about Notre Dame and recruiting the state of Ohio is that this all goes back to the original blueprint. The plan of recruiting Catholic high schools works well in the Buckeye state. This mainly involves Cincinnati (which has quite a few catholic high schools) and the Cleveland area. The Cincinnati connection is pretty fierce and the fence Brian Kelly and this staff put around the Queen City causes all sorts of fits for Urban Meyer. Notre Dame will only continue to do great in Ohio.
