Notre Dame Football: 3 Questions For Miles Boykin
We have three questions about every player on the Notre Dame football roster this spring.
There will be about 65 guys on scholarship for spring football this year. We are going to take a look at each one (alphabetically for dewey decimal fans), and ask a few questions. What those questions will be, are probably more important than the answers actually given before September- if any are given at all.
1. What does Miles Boykin bring to the table?
Boykin has what a majority of what the other Irish receivers don’t have, and that’s physicality. While Corey Robinson is bigger than Boykin, Miles is much more physical and will go hard for the ball. At least that’s what I gather from his high school film. Seriously though, Notre Dame is lacked a physical pass catcher last year, and despite having speed to burn on the depth chart, Notre Dame needed a guy that would make the tough catches.
2. How does that depth chart look for Miles Boykin right now?
Well… even with that physical play, Boykin may have a tough time seeing the field consistently unless he is included in certain packages (which is totally plausible). Notre Dame loses Will Fuller, Chris Brown, and Amir Carlilse to the NFL. All three were starters, but in their place we will most likely see Torii Hunter Jr., Equanimeous St. Brown, and Corey Robinson. So, as it was stated before… Boykin will have to be included in some package situations to see the field consistently (in package situations).
3. “Can Miles Boykin catch the fade?”
This had to be the first question that Brian Kelly asked himself, and the answer to that may be the answer for the previous question. 3rd and goal from the 1- THROW THE DAMN FADE!
