The Bookstore

There is an animal in all of us, and if you are willing to get a little dirty, you can unleash that inner animal on gamedays at The Hammes Notre Dame Bookstore. If you have ever seen or been a part of a Black Friday sale, then you may understand what a trip to Hammes on gameday is all about.

It’s pure madness.

You “walk” damn near elbow to elbow around trying to scoop up the latest Irish gear- all the while ignoring the price tags which make this writer feel as if I need to take out another student loan. It’s funny to watch some people as they must be making their first trip of the season (or ever) and see them carry these huge loads of apparel up to the cash register. Well… after they snake through the long and winding lines.

Insanity be damned, if you are looking for a good Notre Dame read, or a great Notre Dame gift, there really is no better place to go- even if it’s not on gameday. In fact, on gamedays, there are special book signings which make a great gift and a great read.
