Clay Helton is back and he’s BFF’s with another former NBC broadcaster.

Is it a little strange that the interim head coach is back again, but as the real deal? Well, he’s got the title anyways. Brian Kelly will be facing his third USC head coach and fourth if you count Ed O while he was the interim. It wasn’t that long ago when this idea of so many USC coaches coming and going would have been ridiculous.

And so if that wasn’t crazy enough, USC hired Lynn Swann as their new athletic director after Pat Haden stepped down for multiple reasons. So if you’re keeping score at home, the past two athletic directors at USC were employees of NBC and worked Notre Dame games.

We just thought you should be reminded of this and laugh.
