Potential Landing Spots for Demetrius Jackson
By Bobby Norell
Sacramento Kings – No.8 Pick
I think the Kings at No.8 is the absolute highest Jackson will go because Kris Dunn of Providence will be the first point guard off the board and he’s expected to go top five. Jackson could be a really good fit with the Kings. Yes they already do have two veterans in Darren Collison and Rajon Rondo, but Collison’s contract is up after next season and Rondo is a free agent this summer. Rondo isn’t expected to resign. He would have to spend a year timesharing the point guard spot with Collison, but that could be a good thing for Jackson’s development. Spending a year learning from a veteran guard could only do him well.
As we saw at Notre Dame, Jackson is a very good pick-and-roll player. Him and Zach Auguste ran the pick and roll play to a tee. In the NBA the pick-and-roll play is a very important part of offense. Jackson would have the chance to play pick-and-roll with one of the best big men in the league in Demarcus Cousins. The two could potentially make one of the best duos in the league.
