Los Angeles Clippers – No. 25 Pick

77. . Guard. Notre Dame. Demetrius Jackson. 25. player

Being drafted Clippers would possibly the best move for Jackson’s career. Yes, the Clippers have arguably the best point guard in Chris Paul, but Paul isn’t getting any younger. He just finished his age 31 season and is still on the top of his game, but you can’t expect that forever. Sooner or later there will be a drop off in production from Paul.

Jackson would be Paul’s backup for the first couple years, which is something the Clippers have been lacking. This past season Pablo Prigioni and Austin Rivers backed up Paul. Paul’s contract is up after 2017/2018 season, so Jackson would have a few seasons to learn from one of the game’s very best. If Jackson was to be drafted by the Clippers, it would be very much a move for the future rather than right now.

On top of learning from Paul, Jackson would have the chance to play for a very good team. This past season the Clippers finished with the fourth best record in the Western Conference with a record of 53-29. Before Chris Paul and Blake Griffin went down with injuries many were pegging the Clippers as the one team in the west that could knock off the Golden State Warriors in the playoffs. This could end up being a very good fit for Jackson.
