Who are the best NBA players ever to come out of Notre Dame?

While Notre Dame may be known for it’s success on the football field and because of that, ND’s success on the basketball court has gone a bit unnoticed. Historically, Notre Dame actually has one of the better basketball programs in the sport. Throughout it’s history Notre Dame has won 1,795 games. That’s is more than top flight basketball schools like Louisville, Indiana and Arizona. (Yes I realize the Irish haven’t had the postseason success those schools have had) Anyways, Notre Dame still has had a pretty successful basketball program and one of the by-products of that is that they’ve produced some great NBA players.

NBA Draft night is upon us and for the second straight season Notre Dame will have someone drafted in Demetrius Jackson. Jackson is expected to go in the first round and will only add to the pool of talented players Notre Dame has produced over the years.

Notre Dame has produced 21 first round draft picks and 61 overall draft picks. This got me thinking, “who are the best NBA players to ever to come out of Notre Dame?” There is a good number of players to pick from, so without any further ado here are the top NBA players to come from Notre Dame.
