2015 vs. Boston College

Last year, Under Armour really went for it with these uniforms, evoking the historic venue (Fenway Park) with a very green-on-green look and nodding to Notre Dame’s history with 11 slashes on the accents representing the team’s 11 national championships.

For being the Fighting Irish, Notre Dame doesn’t wear green all that often, so the doubling up of pants and jersey was a bit much on the eye at first. As different as all these uniforms are from the norm, this one felt especially un-Notre Dame.

That being said, the uniform matched the stadium well and looks especially good from a wide angle. There’s isn’t a whole lot of detail, but there doesn’t have to be and the stuff that’s there works for the most part.

Still, if we’re going to quibble over minor details, the floating leprechaun head on the helmet was kind of creepy, and it didn’t fit the full leprechaun on the shoulder pad, or the shamrocks on the team’s Under Armour sleeves. Consistency, people.
