2017 NFL Mock Draft 1.0: First-Round Predictions for All 32 Picks
The Bengals are a team that has just about everything in place except an offensive line. Yes, they’d like to add a reliable receiver adjacent to A.J. Green, but first, they need to protect Andy Dalton.
Robinson is the best offensive linemen in the 2017 class. With the depth of offensive linemen in this year’s draft being much less than past years, Robinson is a gem for many teams. With the Bengals need for a tackle, they’ll be licking their chops at the thought of getting a Nick Saban creation.
The issue with the Bengals drafting Robinson is he’s only an average pass blocker. At 6’6 327 pounds, you’d think he’d be able to lay the lumber on any play. But he’s shown during his career to be much better in the run game than in pass protection.
For a team who relies heavily on the pass, this is going to be a concern. The Bengals may want to upgrade their running game next season. With possibly the best running back duo in the NFL, Cincinnati could be searching for ways to balance out their offense. If they believe they can improve Robinson’s pass blocking they won’t hesitate to draft him.
