Guard. Indiana. Dan Feeney. 20. player. 45.

The Broncos have one of the best defenses in the NFL, one of, if not the, best receiving cores in the NFL, and when healthy a dominant running back. The only problem Denver has is the atrocious offensive line.

For years Denver has tried to fix their line, and it never seems to work. It could be time to stop looking at free agents and start developing players from the draft. One player they won’t need to develop much is Dan Feeney.

At 6’4 305 pounds, Feeney has all the quickness and strength a solid NFL guard needs. As he builds his size, he’ll only begin to become an even more dominant lineman. The Broncos may have the team to win right now, but if they want to carry this success for years to come, they’ll look for Feeney to be the star linemen they need.

His ability to protect against the pass rush and in the run game make him a lineman all teams want. The Broncos may have liked to draft Cam Robinson out of Alabama, but won’t be upset with Feeney. His ability to block for both the run and pass may make him an even better option for Denver than Robinson.

The Broncos need linemen. They can’t come into this draft looking to bulk their defense even more. What they need to do and will do is start protecting their backfield.
