Notre Dame Basketball: Fighting Irish vs Miami Hurricanes Live Stream

Notre Dame basketball looks to win a little easier than their last game and expand their record to 4-0 in the ACC. Here’s how to watch the Irish take on Miami online.

Notre Dame is taking advantage of the struggling ACC this season. Turning a 14-2 record and 3-0 conference start into a tournament run is the end goal for the Irish. But right now, their primary focus is Miami.

The Hurricanes aren’t the team they should be, and most of that comes from the lack of consistency on the roster. Outside of Bruce Brown, Ja’Quan Newton, and Kamari Murphy, Miami has nothing outside their big three to keep them competitive.

These players can cause trouble, though. Brown is quickly becoming one of the most athletic players in the NCAA, and as a 6’1 guard, he’s looking more and more like Russell Westbrook when he steps on the court.

Guarding this freshman will have to be a shared duty between Matt Farrell and Steve Vasturia. Without slowing him down, he can single-handly run Notre Dame into exhaustion and still have half a tank left.

On the frontcourt, Bonzie Colson will square off with Kamari Murphy. This matchup isn’t as competitive as Colson’s usual opponents. At 6’8, Murphy has the height advantage, but he isn’t as aggressive on the boards as Colson.

If Notre Dame can find a way to control two out of three of Miami’s stars, the could easily put the game in V.J. Beachem’s hands once again. Newton is one of the best scorers in the ACC. Averaging 15.2 points per game, this sharp shooter can become lights out quick.

Beachem may have been in a slump for a few games. But after his 22 point outing against Clemson, it’s safe to assume the senior forward is right back on track. If it comes down to it, Beachem is still the man for the job when the Irish need a big scoring night.

Notre Dame should take this win with some sort of ease. If they play to their level and not let Miami hang around, they could make the Hurricanes play catch up and change their style of play.

Without Brown running up and down the court, and Newton causing double-teams, Miami is almost powerless. Once Notre Dame figures out how to shut down their stars, the game is in their hands.
