Notre Dame basketball heads back to South Bend after their first ACC loss of the season. Here’s how to watch Notre Dame vs Syracuse.

After three straight losses the Syracuse over the last three years, Notre Dame, and their seniors are looking for redemption in two ways. First, the Irish want to bounce back from their first conference loss of the season, and second, they want to earn their senior’s first win against the Orange.

This game should be a breeze for Notre Dame. As one of the top teams in the country, the Irish have been able to handle teams outside the top 25. For Syracuse, they haven’t been able to stay slightly competitive against the top of the conference, and it’s shown.

At 3-3 in the ACC, the Orange are hoping to turn their season around. But with the lack of contributors this team has, it isn’t going to start against Notre Dame.

Bonzie Colson and Steve Vasturia will be the men in charge of stopping Syracuse’s stars. Andrew White III and Tyler Lydon are the only two players on this team making any noise this season. However, the Irish’s shutdown defense and scrappy backcourt are going to make it nearly impossible for these two to find much success.

On offense, as long as the Irish can find their stroke, they’ll pull away. Facing Syracuse’s 2-3 zone, Notre Dame will need to get hot early from outside and make the Orange play out on them. From there, Colson should be able to find looks down low, and Vasturia will begin to drive and dish for open buckets.

Don’t expect this game to be close. Syracuse has been a walk in the park for top ACC teams this season, and it won’t change in South Bend. Coming off a heart-breaking loss to Florida State, Notre Dame is fired up and looking to get back on the winning track.

Expect this to be over by halftime. As long as Notre Dame doesn’t come out slow or try to run Syracuse into the ground early, they should have a comfortable lead after the first 20-minutes. From there, the game is the Irish’s for the taking.
