New Defensive Coordinator Mike Elko is searching deep for talent that fits his defense.

Hampton, Virginia safety/outside linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah was offered a full scholarship to the University of Notre Dame on Thursday.

"“I would say he’s definitely interested. I think that might be an understatement.” said Owusu-Koramoah’s Head Coach at Bethel High School."

Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah is 6’3, 200 pounds, runs a 4.62 40-yard dash and has an impressive 1310 S.A.T. score.

While playing two linebacker positions as well as both safety positions, he lead his defense with 71 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 7 interceptions, 6 touchdowns and 5 forced fumbles.

How he is only ranked at #321 on 247 Sports, and a consensus 3 star among recruiting sites, is beyond me. He possesses a unique blend of elite coverage skills and great run support talent. He’s a wicked hitter with great burst that provides him with high-end pursuit ability.

Owusu-Koramoah has good pass rush technique that he applies with great speed. He dominates at every position he plays at the high-school level. He also shows great jumping ability and solid ball skills that leads to big plays in pass coverage.

Due to his skill set, Owusu-Koramoah would be a perfect candidate to play Rover in Elko’s scheme. Being able to provide good run support as well as defend the backfield is a must for that position. If he continues to grow, he will likely end up an athletic Buck linebacker.

Although Notre Dame is getting in on him very late in the process, scrambling to build a relationship with Jeremiah won’t be an issue. Defensive Coordinator, Mike Elko, and Linebackers Coach, Clark Lea, Have been recruiting the #321 overall recruit since their time at Wake Forest.
