Notre Dame added some grit to their defensive line in ’17 with 300+ pound Darnell Ewell, Pennsylvania product Kurt Hinish and Hawaiian DE/DT swing player Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa.

Also, they have received commitment from Jayson Ademilola from St. Peter’s Prep in New Jersey, Brandon Wimbush’s alma mater. He looks to provide Mike Elko with a disruptive force for the middle of their defense.

The Irish will be looking to add one or two more  talented defensive tackles. P.J. Mustipher is their guy. They have been in contact with him for quite some time and he has been on campus more than once.

Being current center Sam Mustipher’s brother certainly helps their chances. P.J. looks to be the more talented brother and has great size at 6’6, 285 pounds.

P.J. shows good quickness for a big man and uses his hands and leverage well. I have no doubt that he will be a force at the college level. Adding him to the talent-loaded front 7 would be huge for the Irish.

So far, Mustipher has 16 offers and I expect that number to likely double by signing day. Right now, his leaders are said to be Notre Dame, Tenessee, Alabama and Ohio State.

You have to like Notre Dame’s chances here.
