Like Malik Vann, Dallas Gant, P.J. Mustipher and others, Notre Dame has been in contact with Aeneas Hawkins for a long time.

I spoke with him and he told me that he certainly has interest in Notre Dame. Unfortunately he was unable to be present for Junior Day.

Aeneas Hawkins has one of the more impressive offer lists of all their recruits with 32 in total.

Hawkins is a very explosive and athletic defensive lineman who plays all four positions up front and excels in rushing the passer. With his speed, size and skill set, he may play quite a bit of defensive end at the college level, possibly even end up a mainstay at the position.

The Irish are in constant contact with the Hawkins who takes education very seriously. He has been mentored and trained by his father who played in the NFL as well as his uncle, Andrew Hawkins, who is currently an exciting wide receiver with the Cleveland Browns.

Hawkins released a list and Notre Dame was on it. It looks to be a hard fought battle between Ohio State, Alabama and Notre Dame.

So far, I like Ohio State in this one but I definitely wouldn’t count out Notre Dame.
