I spoke with Tommy Bush this week after he had gotten the call from Chip Long with an offer from Notre Dame. He was very excited and seemed to all ready be aware of many factors of Notre Dame.

Bush blew up on the recruiting scene after posting a 4.47 sec. 40 yard dash as well a 4.14 sec. shuttle at the Nike Regional in Houston. Since then, he has received offers from many solid Power 5 programs including Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Missouri.

At 6’4.5 and 190 pounds of good, lean muscle on an intriguing frame, Bush resembles an athletic basketball player and runs like a sprinter, in fact, he is a sprinter.

Bush ran the 200 meter in 21.73 sec.

He shows great burst off the line and an impressive top speed. He’s quite raw at this point, having only played football for 5 years, but the traits of a successful receiver are quite evident.

His route running is fairly precise but he needs to improve on being a little more fluid and loose, something that will come in time with good coaching, physical maturing and hard work.

Notre Dame staff will work at getting him on campus for a visit and Tommy said that he is willing to do so.

Keep an eye on this one. Although there are several other receivers on their board, Bush is a good one and I could see him being Irish in the end.
