Notre Dame  basketball might not have much control over their ACC tournament destiny, but that doesn’t mean the last three games of the season don’t yield much weight.

Only three games left this season for Notre Dame and while sitting fifth in the ACC, the Irish winning out won’t matter depending on how the rest of the ACC games finish out.

There are still opportunities for Notre Dame to even finish out first in the ACC but a lot has to happen outside of ND winning out. Don’t think that the last three games have no purpose, though.

The Fighting Irish have had to fight for respect all season. Busting out to a 5-0 start in the ACC it looked like Notre Dame was the team to fear but still didn’t receive too much respect. Of course, the midseason struggles losing four in a row gave everyone to doubt them once again.

Georgia Tech

Within that four-game losing streak was a 62-60 loss to Georgia Tech. If it’s not about respect, it’s about revenge in this one. Lossing on a game winning lay up left a disgusting taste in everyone’s mouth.

Boston College

Boston College is the weakest team in the conference but still found a way to give the Irish all they could handle slipping by with an 84-76 victory. No team in the ACC is a joke, but Notre Dame knows they are much better than BC and will have another chance to prove it.

Lousiville

Wrapping up the regular season will be a rematch with current #7 Lousiville. Notre Dame won the first match-up 77-70, but this time will be at the Yum Center. Only .5 games behind Lousiville in second this will be the best chance for ND to make some more ground in the standings.

Notre Dame throughout the seasons has loved to bounce back and prove everyone wrong. This is their opportunity going into the ACC Tournament.
