Notre Dame basketball may not have taken home the 2017 ACC title, but they should still be a good position come Selection Sunday.

Listen: Oh, Good Old March

After their ACC Championship loss to Duke, Notre Dame heads into Selection Sunday looking at a few options for the 2017 NCAA Tournament. With different bracket predictions having the Irish in numerous spots, we look ahead as to where they are likely to fall this evening.

Starting with ESPN’s Joe Lunardi, the Irish could be looking at the third seed. Lunardi’s bracketology for Selection Sunday says Notre Dame is headed to the East region to play IONA in the round of 64.

Stewart Mandel of Fox Sports doesn’t have as high of hopes for the Irish. Mandel says Notre Dame is looking towards the fifth seed in the South. The Irish would play UT Arlington in the opening round, with a chance to face North Carolina for the region.

CollegeSportsMadness.com and Jerry Palm of CBSSports.com both agree with Mandel. They have Notre Dame claiming a five seed. Despite their ACC Tournament run, these three believe the Fighting Irish aren’t moving into a top four seed.

Three experts believe that Notre Dame is right between Mandel and Lunardi at the four spot. Sports Illustrated’s Michael Beller says the Irish will take on Vermont in the first round. This could be Notre Dame’s easiest road, having to go through Gonzaga, Arizona, and Louisville if they played the top three seeds in the region.

Notre Dame would match up with Princeton in the Round of 64 according to Jason Lisk of thebiglead.com. In this bracket, the Irish would have a chance to play their fourth game against Florida State, who would be the three seed.

In most cases, it’s pretty clear the Notre Dame is headed for the four seed. Although some believe they could fall to a fifth spot, after their conference tournament run, it isn’t likely they fall below a four spot.

Lunardi’s optimism in the Irish may not be too far-fetched. Notre Dame has scooped up wins against Virginia and FSU over the past week. They finished third in the conference during the regular season, and despite losing to Duke, played in the ACC Tournament title game. Looking at their resume, they could land in a third seed.
