Notre Dame football has been contacting some ‘under-the-radar’ types lately.

Defensive coordinator Mike Elko has been turning over rocks to find undervalued talent for years while on staff at schools like Wake Forest.

Recently, he contacted Houston, Texas defensive back Millard Bradford. I caught up with Bradford this morning to hear what he had to say about his talk with Mike Elko.

“I just touched base with their new defensive coordinator,” said Bradford. “He asked where I’m from, my knowledge of Notre Dame and if I’m willing to leave Texas.”

I asked Bradford which position Elko was interested in him playing. “Either safety. They haven’t confirmed if it’s strong or weak safety.”

I asked him if he could give me his thoughts on Notre Dame, as a whole.

“It’s a great school with a long track record of being a great football program,” said Bradford. “I would love to visit Notre Dame. They’re doing great things over there, It’s interesting to see what other moves they make. I think it’s impressive.”

I asked Bradford if he thinks an offer could be coming. “It’s still early. I couldn’t honestly say yes or no. I think they’re a great program with a lot of pride. If they extended an offer, I’ll continue to do my due diligence to make the best decision possible for my future,” he said.

So far, Bradford has been offered by one school, TCU. He has visited for their Junior Day as well as UTSA’s Junior Day. He plans on visiting Houston’s spring practice as well.

Bradford had an impressive showing at The Opening Dallas Regionals where he scored an eye-popping 43.2 inch verticle jump. He also ran a 4.58 second 40 yard dash and other impressive scores. I believe he will receive a lot more offers in the future.

Keep an eye on this one.
