Cy-Fair CB Erick Hallatt Talks Contact From Notre Dame
Erick Hallett has been hearing from Notre Dame.
Cy-Fair, Texas cornerback Erick Hallett is flying under a lot of recruiter’s radar but Notre Dame has picked up on his talent. New defensive coordinator Mike Elko reached out to him last week.
“I recently talked to Coach Mike Elko. He wanted to introduce himself and get to know me a little better. He also said that he liked my film and would be keeping up with my progress and would love to continue to talk,” said Hallett.
Erick Hallett explained to me that he has recently started receiving more interest than he had in the past. “I’ve been talking with Tulsa, Texas State, Arizona State, Toledo, ULM and Texas Tech,” he said.

Erick Hallet is a converted receiver who is still learning the ins and outs of the position but has the raw talent that college coaches like to see.
“I just recently started playing cornerback my sophomore year in high school. I had previously played wide out. I think of myself as a versatile guy and I think I would be able to play most anywhere I’m needed,” said Hallett.
Hallett gave me his thoughts on Notre Dame, “I think ND is a very prestigious school with high academics and athletic competition with a beautiful campus. I would be interested in setting up a visit to come to ND and check out the campus,” he said.
Erick Hallett goes to Cy-Fair, where Brock Wright, the #1 tight end in the nation from the ’17 recruiting class, played and left early to enroll at Notre Dame. Hallett gave me his thoughts on Brock.
“Brock is a tremendous person on and off the field. Over the last two years playing on the varsity level with him, I’ve developed a strong relationship with him and he is a great guy all around. I think he will have a huge career at Notre Dame and he will fit very well into their system,” he said.
Something I ask all recruits from Texas is if they are willing to or are interested in leaving the state to go to college. “I’m open to leaving the state to attend college,” he said.
Of course, it’s early in the process. This very well may be a situation where Notre Dame is waiting to see how Hallett develops at the cornerback position as a senior. However it may be, the Irish staff have him on their radar as a potential offer candidate down the road.
