Anthony Schwartz is being pursued by Notre Dame.

Anthony Schwartz is one of the fastest athletes in the country. He has reported a 10.26 second 100 meter dash as a sophomore and clocked in at 10.54 as a junior. Those are elite numbers.

His speed certainly translates to the football field. His Hudl profile states that he runs a 4.31 40-yard dash. These dynamic numbers are exactly the type of thing that Brian Kelly is seeking for his offense.

I reached out to Schwartz to see how his recruitment is coming along with the Irish. First, he spoke to me about his visit plans. “I’m trying to visit,” he said. “I might try to schedule one during the summer.”

Next, he spoke about Notre Dame’s Florida area recruiter and running back coach.

“I talk a lot to coach Denson. He mainly talks to me about how I’m doing in track right now,” stated Schwartz. “He seems like a great coach. He grew up near where I stay at so we have that south Florida connection.”

I asked him which schools were recruiting him the hardest currently. “I would say Florida, Miami, Georgia, Oregon, USC, Auburn and Notre Dame. Also, Michigan and Louisville,” Schwartz listed.

Considering Schwartz is one of the biggest track stars in the country, I asked him which sport he plans on getting more serious about at the college level. “I started playing football when I was six and I started running track when I was in seventh grade,” said Schwartz. ” I love them both equally.”

“I like ND and I plan on making a decision in the summer,” said Schwartz.

Anthony Schwartz is a highly sought after recruit for obvious reasons. He currently has offers from 28 schools, including Florida, Miami, USC, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Nebraska and USC.

Notre Dame would love to add his elite speed to their 2018 recruiting class. Hopefully for them, they will get him on campus.
