2019 defensive end Chris Hinton will visit Notre Dame on Sunday.

A big time recruit from a big time high school football state with big time offers will be in South Bend this Sunday. Chris Hinton is a 6’4, 265-pound defensive end from Greater Atlanta Christian School in Norcross, Georgia. Hinton informed me that he will be at Notre Dame on Sunday.

Hinton holds 14 offers already, as a high school sophomore, from strong programs that include Georgia, Auburn, Clemson, Michigan, Michigan State, North Carolina, Ohio State, Stanford and Tennessee.

During his sophomore campaign, Hinton racked up 70 tackles over 15 games in Class 3A Georgia varsity football action. On film, the signs of a dominant college defensive end are apparent. He shows a great first step, solid football fundamentals and is very light on his feet at his size.

Hinton proves to have taken in elite coaching which is evident in the way he uses his hands to shed blocks and maintain effective pad level throughout his progression. Those tools, combined with his natural talent allow him to make plays in the backfield consistently.

Chris Hinton’s father is from the Chicago area and went to Northwestern before moving on to a long career in the NFL which included 7 Pro Bowl appearances.

Chris Hinton Sr. was drafted by the Baltimore Colts (the year before the franchise moved to Indianapolis), where he played from ’83 to ’89. He played in Atlanta from ’90 to ’94 before playing his final two seasons in Minnesota.
