Keegan Vaughan’s dad is a big Michigan fan. When Notre Dame would play the Wolverines in the storied rivalry game, Keegan would root for the Irish.

“My dad was always a Michigan fan and growing up I would say ND and Michigan were a pretty good rivalry. So, when he would be going for Michigan, I would route for the other team no matter who it was,” said the 6’6″ offensive lineman.

” I was that little kid who was always rooting for the under dog or going against my family,” Vaughan explained with a laugh. “Now I think of Notre Dame in a great way and I loved it there. I hope to build a great connection with the staff there and see how my future will turn out,” stated Vaughan.

Vaughan had conversations with multiple staff members while in South Bend, including the head coach.

“I talked to coach Kelly a little bit and some of the offensive line and defensive line guys and the defensive line coach. I loved the visit and it was a great place, good atmosphere and I plan on going back in the fall or summer for a camp,” Vaughan boasted.

"“It was great man I really loved it up there and I could really feel the tradition,” expressed Vaughan."

Vaughan understands that there is a long way to go until signing day, and for that reason he continues to hone his skills and focus on the mental aspect of his position.

“I’m an offensive tackle and and I hope to play offensive line at the next level,” mentioned Vaughan. “I really try my hardest to be the smartest player on the field at all times and understand and recognize defenses and blitzes.”

“I work with my footwork a lot, always trying to get better and I think my best feature is using my hands and getting physical with the man I’m blocking,” added Vaughan

I asked Vaughan if he plans on returning to Notre Dame for another visit with staff. “Yeah, I hope to return for a game, get to talk to some more coaches on a personal level,” added Vaughan.
