The Los Angeles Chargers waited until the seventh round to draft to pick the second Notre Dame player, Isaac Rochell.

After a more than impressive NFL Combine and Notre Dame Pro Day, Isaac Rochell made his name known in the NFL. Now, he will get his chance to prove himself at the next level as the Los Angeles Chargers drafted him as the seventh pick in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Rochell, the 2016 captain for the Fighting Irish, left his legacy in South Bend as an explosive, hard-working defensive lineman. During his four years at Notre Dame, he contributed at both special teams and on defense.

Now, he’ll head to the NFL and try to have the same success that he did in college. Although he’s got a long way to go before he’s officially on the Chargers roster, and even when he is, he’ll have to earn his roster spot, Rochell is excited just to get an opportunity.

For Notre Dame, they’ll be rooting for nothing but the best for Rochell. His impact on the program will not go unforgotten, and he will forever have the support of Fighting Irish fans everywhere.

As he takes the next step in his journey, he’ll look back and remember where it all started – South Bend, Indiana – Home of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
