Considered one of the top transfers available, Juwan Durham will visit Notre Dame basketball.

Durham was a 4-star prospect from Florida that came to UConn after not playing in almost two years due to tearing each ACL in back-to-back seasons. He is now looking for a fresh start after a season with the Huskies.

Durham didn’t make much of an impact in his one season with UConn, playing 233 total minutes in 28 games, averaging 1.6 points per game. That doesn’t mean he can’t do damage somewhere else.

It’s not just Notre Dame in the running for Durham. Many schools could land the 4-star recruit.

You look at the lack of impact made at UConn and ask why Notre Dame should take a chance on him. So what do you get with Durham?

Hight, something the Irish lack. Bonzie Colson’s game could open up tremendously if you have someone else to help with size.

Three years of eligibility. Normally the problem with transfers is they sit out for a year then can only play for one season. With Durham’s eligibility still left, he has time to get used to the system and make a lengthy impact.

Low risk/high reward. Mike Brey has done well by developing his bigs such as Luke Harangody and Jack Cooley, just imagine what he could do with this 4-star recruit. You have the assurance that he can play the game as well as that Brey can make him better.

There is definitely health concerns when it comes to Durham. Not only did he tear each ACL in back-to-back season, but also dealt with a foot injury in January. He was forced to sit three games.

With scholarships available and the loss of Matt Ryan, not only could Durham look attractive to Notre Dame, but Notre Dame could look attractive to him. With the credibility the Irish have built-in the last few years, Durham could be picturing a career in South Bend.
