They’ve been here before. They have the experience. Now it’s time to fill the role.
Starting with the only “true big man” on this team if you will, Martinas Geben is entering his Senior season.
Geben has had his ups and downs with the Irish, but being an enforcer and protector in the paint will be his role. Brey found out last year that Geben is most effective coming off the bench and is the guy who can give Colson a break every now and then.
Maybe not getting the most experience, the young gun Temple Gibbs showed in his freshman season that he belongs here. Averaging 15 minutes a game last season, Gibbs made his first career start vs. No. 14 Florida State.
He looked comfortable for a freshman and this season has a chance to fill the void left by Steve Vasturia’s departure.
