Stanford Cardinal – 2016 Record: 10-3

Notre Dame travels to Palo Alto in hopes of ending the season on a high note. Since 2012, the Irish lost every regular season finale. They fell to Stanford in 2013 and 2015. Notre Dame dropped games to USC in 2014 and 2016. Can the Irish close out the season on a high note for the first time since 2012? Can Notre Dame win their first game in Palo Alto since 2007 when a 3-9 Charlie Weis led team defeated first year Coach Jim Harbaugh? All of these storylines emerge as Notre Dame plays Stanford on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Stanford returns sixteen total players, eight on offense and eight on defense. The departure of new Carolina Panthers Running Back Christian McCaffrey represented the biggest loss for the Cardinal. Notre Dame lost to Stanford, 17-10, in 2016 with McCaffrey on the bench.

David Shaw, perhaps the most underrated coach in America, leads his physical team into another Pac 12 slate. They will battle the Washington Huskies for the North Division title.

By the time Notre Dame travels to “The Farm” in late November, Bryce Love may be the next well-known Stanford Running Back. Will Notre Dame seriously lose to Stanford in Northern California again? It seems like it.

Prediction: LOSS

FINAL RECORD PREDICTION: 9-4 (Notre Dame wins bowl game)
