Prediction #2 The secondary will be tested.

You cannot get ready for the Redhawks without preparing for James Gardner and Ryan Smith. They are the two biggest offensive weapons for Miami (OH).

Gardner being a longer receiver is going to challenge many cornerbacks including Notre Dame’s. He is the type of player that can win many one-on-one battles. This has been proven on the field with 16 catches for 294 yards and 2 touchdowns so far this season.

What makes this team even more dangerous on the offensive side of the ball is Senior Tight End Ryan Smith. Smith is even more efficient than Gardner with 10 receptions for 144 yards and 2 touchdowns so far.

It is no secret that when the chains need moved the Redhawks know they can go to their prevalent Tight End.

Notre Dame’s Secondary has struggled at times this season and passing is the best bet for Miami (OH) to put some real points on the board.

If the Irish defense has the answer and shut down the Miami (OH) passing game, this game could get away early. The Redhawks do not have the running game to be able to stick with the Irish for long.
