The Notre Dame football team travels to Chapel Hill to face North Carolina, here are the three predictions for today’s game.

The Irish have shed some light on the possibility of a bright future with some recent success. To keep it up they will have to get through North Carolina, the potential “trap game”.

A bye-week next on deck followed by the rival. USC comes to town on Oct. 21st. Throw in the recent news of Bandon Wimbush’s uncertainty, and there becomes a lot of distractions for Notre Dame.

Even with the distractions, the Irish will have to dial it in against UNC, and so will we with these 3 bold predictions.

Prediction #1: Josh Adams will rush for 200+ yards

Whether or not he’s getting the national attention Brian Kelly wants him to, he’s caught ours. This could be a game that elevates his numbers into some more discussions. Already 4th nationally for most rushing yards in the country this season, he can do some serious damage against UNC.

The Tar Heels defense is not on par. Giving up 11 plays of 40 or more yards ranks them 123rd out of 129 FBS teams. If there is one thing Adams can do, it’s breaking out for huge gains.

Only playing in the 1st quarter against Miami (OH), Adams rushed for 159 yards and averaged 19.8 per carry.

Expect the offensive line to part UNC’s defensive line. The running holes could be ridiculous for Adams this week. Notre Dame is 4th nationally with 12 plays of 40 or more yards this season with a lot of that being thanks to Adams.

Averaging nine yards per rush on the season, Adams strength and ability to cut on a dime will be too much for the Tar Heels.
