The rivalry has been played recently, but not with this much on the line as we get ready for Notre Dame vs. Miami.

Brian Kelly said every game has been a playoff game for the Notre Dame football team since losing to Georgia. He’s not wrong, but this week’s game holds the most weight since that Georgia game.

The rivalry you grew up loving to hate, and we’re not talking about USC.

It’s Notre Dame vs. Miami the classic rivalry has woken up. Playoff implications on the line as No.3 Notre Dame travels south for No.7 Miami.

After a 20 year hiatus from 1990 to 2010, we finally got to see the Catholics vs. Convicts once again. This time in the Sun Bowl, which ND won 33-17. Two more games over next six years pushed Notre Dame’s win streak in the series to four in a row. Even through last seasons struggles the Irish were able to come out on top once again 30-27.

A loss for Notre Dame this week would kill their chance of making the playoffs. If Miami took the loss there is a slim chance that winning out, including the ACC Championship game, could just maybe push the Hurricanes into the playoffs. That would take some help from others in the top-5, but with college football anything is possible and mayhem is expected.

This game should be nothing short of mayhem as Notre Dame strengths line up with those of Miami’s and vice-versa.

The Saturday night primetime matchup has Notre Dame as 3 point favorites over Miami.
