Looking to get 2018 started off right, Notre Dame will take on LSU at the Citrus Bowl on New Year’s Day.

While getting Notre Dame football back on track after last season’s 4-8 catastrophe, the Irish turned a lot of heads this season.

Bringing them back to national attention, the Fighting Irish started the season off hot. While a one-point loss to Georgia in just the second game of the season might have derailed those hopes, it meant more and more as the season went along.

Notre Dame gained momentum winning seven consecutive games including routs of Michigan State, USC, and North Carolina State.

The Irish were on a tear outscoring opponents 304 to 130 in those seven games. This domination landed Notre Dame into playoff contention. At one point, the Fighting Irish ranked 3rd in the country.

Ranked as the No. 3 team in the country, a road loss to Miami (FL) took Notre Dame out of those playoff contentions. The Irish were not prepared for the prime time scene inside of Hard Rock Stadium. A New Year’s Six bowl and an outside shot at the College Football Playoff still remained.

Sitting at 9-3 and looking to get back on track after losing to Stanford on the road, Notre Dame will seek their tenth win of the season vs. LSU in the Citrus. The Tigers also enter as a 9-3 team.

In a rematch of the 2014 Music City Bowl, let’s get ready for the Citrus Bowl with 3 bold predictions.
