Bowl gifts and swag bags are the real MVP of the College Football bowl season.
Players from the Notre Dame football team headed to a local Orlando Best Buy to cash in on their gift from the Citrus Bowl: a $400 shopping spree.
The shopping spree is one of many gifts that players receive for participating in the bowl games. In the over 40 bowl games, players receive watches, rings, gift cards, sunglasses, Amazon Echos, backpacks and much more.
The players participating in the Camping World Bowl and the Citrus Bowl both receive the Best Buy shopping spree. These games both are played in Orlando at Camping World Bowl Stadium.
Interestingly, the bigger the bowl game does not necessarily mean better swag. For example, the student-athletes playing in the Rose Bowl received a gift suite; Fossil watch; Ogio backpack; New Era 9Fifty snapback adjustable hat.
So, what would you do with a $400 Best Buy shopping spree?
Here is my answer:
As someone who likes their Best Buy credit card a little too much, I would be pumped to get to go on a $400 Shopping Spree. First of all, is the $400 a pre or post-tax total? I would assume that $400 is the maximum price regardless of tax. Therefore, I would not be able to purchase a Sony – PlayStation 4 Pro Console.
So, approximately $373 is the limit. For Christmas, my cousin got an XBOX One with Star Wars Battlefront II. Even though I am 17 years older than him, I thought it was pretty awesome. So, an XBOX One S with Battlefront II sounds great to the tune of $229.98. I probably should pick up NBA 2K18 and Madden 18 as well. Now, my total is up to $329.96.

With $43.04 left, I’m starting to get nervous. I definitely can use a $29.00 Apple Watch charger to keep at work. A copy of Mad Max: Fury Road and a candy bar round everything out with only pennies to spare.
See, don’t you wish you were a Division 1 athlete?
