The Notre Dame football enters the Citrus Bowl desperately trying to regain the momentum that Miami (FL) sucked out of them. In the past five games in the state of Florida, the Irish have fallen. This is the perfect set up for Notre Dame to exorcise the demons that haunt them.

Notre Dame Offense vs. LSU Defense

The LSU defense is one of the best that Notre Dame has faced this year. Entering tomorrow’s contest, the Tigers ranks as the 14th in the country. They yield 18.8 points per game with their full squad.

LSU will miss several starters tomorrow including first-round talent Arden Key. This should help Notre Dame significantly.

In order to pick up the victory, Brandon Wimbush and the Irish must find a way to throw the ball effectively. Equanimeous St. Brown must prove that he can burn elite Cornerbacks. After his “trash talk”, the Tigers Corners will gun for him.

The X-factor might be Freshman Wide Receiver Michael Young who picked up valuable experience in Notre Dame’s bowl prep.

Notre Dame Defense vs. LSU Offense

Matt Canada apparently will coach in his final game as LSU’s Offensive Coordinator on Monday. Despite only being in Baton Rouge for a season, Ed Orgeron plans to remove him from his position. The drama within the coaching staff has to help the Irish.

Derrius Guice is LSU’s best player. Notre Dame must stop him in order to win the football game. Guice averages 104.82 yards per contest. In LSU’s losses, he either did not play or rushed for under 100 yards.

Predictions

Notre Dame needs this game more than LSU does. The pregame momentum seems to be going the way of the Irish with the Tigers injuries and coaching drama. With that said, Notre Dame suspended four players prior to the bowl game. Those suspensions are not as significant as LSU’s injuries. The Irish find a way to win the Citrus Bowl, creating momentum for the 2018 season.
