Former Notre Dame offensive tackle Mike McGlinchey is a sure-fire first round pick according to the experts.

Former Notre Dame tackle Mike McGlinchey is regarded by most draft experts and pundits as one of the top available offensive tackles in the upcoming NFL Draft. Offensive tackles are always highly sought after in the draft, and that subsequently raises McGlinchey’s value.

Here is where some of the top experts and most recent mock drafts have Mike McGlinchey being drafted next month.

Chris Trapasso, CBS Sports: trapasso has McGlichey going No. 12 overall to the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals are in a weird spot right now, not quite rebuilding, but certainly searching for an identity. McGlichey gives them long-term stability.

Vinnie Iyer, Sporting News: Iyer has McGlichey going No. 18 overall to the Seattle Seahawks. If he lasts that long, this makes a lot of sense for a Seattle team arguable in more need of help on the offensive line than any team in the NFL.

Matt Miller, Bleacher Report: Miller has McGlinchey going No. 24 overall to the Carolina Panthers. This is another sensible move, as McGlinchey would both fill a need and fit well stylistically in a scheme with a mobile quarterback.

Lance Zierlein, NFL.com: Zierlein has McGlichey going No. 16 overall to the Ravens. The thought process here would be moving him back to right tackle, opposite former Irish tackle Ronnie Stanley on the left side.

Nate Davis, USA Today: Davis has McGlinchey going No. 30 overall to the Minnesota Vikings. This would be a nice situation, as the Vikings appear to have all of the pieces in places to remain competitive for the forseeable future. McGlinchey would be a cornerstone of any success the Vikings would have.

All signs point to Mike McGlinchey being drafted somewhere in the second have of the first round. I believe the ideal situation for him would be to end up where Nate Davis has him projected — No. 30 to the Vikings. He’d be part of a young team that knows how to win, making his transition to the NFL a little easier.
