If you are traveling to watch a Notre Dame football game on the road this season, why not add an extra day and take in an NFL game?

I love playing travel agent. I love it even more when the travel has to do with football — particularly Notre Dame football.

Sure, Irish fans travel well, but are you really maximizing your football experience on these road game weekends?

With the recent release of the 2018 NFL Schedule, I combed through the slate and found five opportunities for Notre Dame fans to extend their trip by a day and take in a pro game.

Sept. 23: Bengals at Panthers

The Irish are in Wake Forest on Sept 22. If you fly into Charlotte and rent a car, Wake Forest is about a 3 hour drive east. Tailgate, take in an Irish win and head back to Charlotte to watch former Notre Dame tight end Tyler Eifert and the Bengals take on former Irish players J.J. Hansen, Cole Luke and the Panthers. Tickets to this game are currently going for a little as $56.

Oct. 7: Giants at Panthers

Here’s another chance to catch Carolina. The Irish will be in Blacksburg, VA the night before — a 3 hour drive north of Charlotte. This time, you’ll get to see former Irish star Romeo Okwara suit up for the Giants and take on Carolina.  Tickets to the game are currently going for a little as $64.

Oct. 28: Packers at Rams

Many of you will make the trip to San Diego to watch the Irish take on Navy. Why not stay the extra day, head north 2 hours to Los Angeles, and watch the Green Bay Packers take on the L.A. Rams. You can see former Irish star DeShone Kizer in Packer green as his team faces former Irish great John Sullivan and the Rams. You can get tickets to this one right now for $152.

Nov. 18: Buccaneers at Giants

One day after watching the Irish take on Syracuse in the Bronx, why not head over to the Meadowlands and watch the Giants take on the Bucs? Tickets to this game are currently going for as low as $76.

Nov. 25: Cardinals at Chargers

You are already in L.A. to watch The Battle for the Jeweled Shillelagh. Why not hang out antoher day and catch former Irish stars Isaac Rochell and James Onwualu suit up for the Chargers and host the Arizona Cardinals? You can get tickets for this one right now as low as $126.
