4. Stephen Carr & Aca’Cedric Ware (USC)

This is admittedly a future looking prediction as Ronald Jones II was the main workhorse for USC in 2017, and one of the top prospects in this weekend’s draft. However, USC is always one of the most talented teams in the country, and rising sophomore Stephen Carr is waiting in the wings.

In limited carries last year, Carr was very efficient rushing for 363 yards and 3 scores.

He also caught 17 passes for 188 yards.

There is no doubting USC will miss Ronald Jones’ 19 touchdowns and over 1500 yards rushing, but Stephen Carr was a 5-star recruit in the class of 2017 for a reason. He should have no problem picking up the majority of the slack.

Behind Carr, USC will have some veteran leadership to ease the transition. Aca’Cedric Ware has never carried the ball more than 80 times in a single season, but he provides the Trojans with a steady presence behind the talented sophomore.

This could end up a conservative ranking when looking back on the 2018 season, but for now, No. 4 is a good spot for the USC backfield.
