2. Cam Akers and Jacques Patrick (Florida State)

It is crazy to think that these two could be second on any list, but here they are sitting at No. 2.

As a true freshman last season, Cam Akers rushed for over 1,000 yards and 7 touchdowns. He coupled that with 16 receptions and 1 receiving touchdown. He is one of the most dynamic players in college football with the ball in his hands, and many experts see him as a Heisman contender. It’s very possible he will be the first RB taken in the 2020 draft.

Jacques Patrick is no slouch himself. A former top 50 recruit, Patrick has enjoyed 3 very successful seasons at Florida State. Although he was never the top ball carrier — sitting behind Dalvin Cook and Akers — he has always been a productive back.

2017 was his best year yet, compiling over 750 yards rushing and matching Akers with 7 rushing touchdowns. Patrick is back for his senior season, and he would have NFL scouts flocking to Tallahassee with or without Akers in the fold.

This could be Notre Dame’s biggest test of the season. It’s not every day you see a team with two running backs as talented as this.
