We saw two Notre Dame football players selected in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft on Thursday Night. We might see a couple more drafted on Day 2.

Round One is in the books and two former Notre Dame football players have new homes. As Day 2 of the NFL Draft — comprised of the 2nd and 3rd rounds — creeps up on us, here’s what you need to know as a Notre Dame fan.

What: Day 2 of the NFL Draft, Rounds 2 and 3

When: Friday, April 27, 7 pm ET

Channel: ESPN, NFL Network and Fox

Who Could Be Drafted From Notre Dame?

With only two wide receivers taken in the first round, you can expect a run on them in the second and third. That means Equanimeous St. Brown will likely hear his name called tonight.

Additionally, we started to see teams taking running backs at the end of the first round. Josh Adams can fill a need for several teams, so there is an outside chance that we see someone grab him — likely in the third round if he goes tonight.

Where might Equanimeous St. Brown end up?

After the first round, anything is possible. There are some teams who are more in need of playmakers at wide receiver than others. The Jets seem like a good fit for St. Brown, as do the Colts. Another possibility is Green Bay. When the Packers acquired DeShone Kizer, they would have had to review a lot of his college film. They also would have seen plenty of St. Brown on those tapes, as he was Kizer’s top target in 2016.

Where might Josh Adams end up?

The Eagles, Raider and Steelers all have needs at running back for different reasons, I’m just not sure if they take a flyer on Adams in the second round. Possible, not probable. The Rams are looking for more depth to put behind Todd Gurley, and it wouldn’t shock me if they tab Adams as Gurley’s primary backup.

What about Durham Smythe?

Smythe is probably going to be drafted, he’s just not going to go in the second or third round. The team that takes him will have a specific package — likely already installed — for his skill set as a solid blocking tight end. He could go anywhere in the 5th through 7th rounds.
