Notre Dame Football: Top 5 Wide Receivers Irish Will Face in 2018
By Jack Leniart
Notre Dame football will face some underrated receivers in 2018.
Overall, Notre Dame had a solid pass defense in 2017. They held their opponents to 6.2 yards per attempt last season, which was 17th best in the country.
On the other hand, they allowed a total of 21 passing touchdowns and only snagged 10 interceptions. We can attribute the number of passing touchdowns to the current schemes and systems that most college offenses use. The number of turnovers they generate, however, needs to improve.
Fortunately for the Irish, they have three starters returning to the secondary and two other defensive backs that saw significant playing time last season. Notre Dame, for the first time in what seems like a while, will have a fairly experienced group in the secondary.
This comes as a relief because the Irish will face some very formidable wide receivers in 2018. Here are the top 5 receivers Notre Dame fans should be on the look out for this season.
Honorable Mention: Being the super indecisive person I am, I had a tough time only including 5 wide receivers. The first three receivers left off my list are: Scotty Washington (Wake Forest), Kalija Lipscomb (Vanderbilt), and Nyqwan Murray (FSU).
