The 2018 Notre Dame football season is still four months away. Nonetheless, let’s take a look at some best and worst-case scenarios for the Irish in each game this season.

Spring practice is over, college football preview magazines are right around the corner, and before you know it, Notre Dame will open its 2018 schedule and face off with Michigan on September 1st.

The schedule, although providing its own set of challenges, appears manageable enough for the Irish to make a run at the College Football Playoff.

Of course, the Playoff is the best-case scenario for not just this team, but any team. However, rarely does everything go perfectly during the season. Balls bounce the wrong way, weather happens, injuries occur and every so often luck plays a huge role.

Today, we’ll look at those scenarios for the upcoming season and predict how — for better or for worse –they could impact every game on the 2018 Notre Dame football schedule.
