Ball State

Best:  The run game explodes, as Dexter Williams, Tony Jones Jr and Jafar Armstrong all have huge days. The offensive line gets some excellent game experience, as a good amount of second and possibly even third team players get a chance to come in.  The defense shows up to dominate, bringing anything Ball State wants to do to a screeching halt.

A dominant, blowout win.

Worst:  Ball State quarterback Riley Neal, in his first game since week 3 last season, returns as one of the top quarterbacks in the MAC, and completes plenty of short passes, eating up game clock.

The Cardinals hang tough until the second half, where Notre Dame takes over. Notre Dame only wins by 17, although the score looks a lot closer than it actually was.
